The Plant Pole Co.

3' Hydration Core Moss Pole

How the hydration system works

Pour water directly into the top opening. Internal channels run the full 3-foot length of the core and distribute moisture evenly into the surrounding moss — keeping it consistently hydrated without manual surface wetting, even at the base.

Install Guide

1

Initial soak

Submerge the full pole in water for 20–25 minutes before installation. The 3-foot length takes slightly longer to saturate than the 2.5' model — don't rush this step.

2

Prepare the pot

For large plants, ensure the pot is stable and heavy enough to support the pole and plant weight. A pot diameter of at least 10 inches is recommended for the 3' pole.

3

Insert the stake

Push the included mounting stake firmly into the soil. For large plants, position the pole so the existing stem can be guided upward without bending sharply.

4

Attach the main stem

Use soft ties to loosely secure the main stem at 3–4 points along the pole. Work from the base upward. Avoid tying too tightly — the plant needs room to grow.

5

Water through the top opening

Pour water slowly into the top opening. The 3-foot channel system distributes moisture the full length of the pole. Water until you see moisture at the base of the moss.

6

Maintain moisture

Water the pole every 2–3 days. Large plants in active growth consume moisture faster — check the moss daily and adjust your routine as needed.

Pro Tips

  • Large monstera can be heavy — check that the stake is seated firmly in the soil before letting go of the plant.
  • If the plant leans after installation, add a second stake on the opposite side of the pot for balance.
  • The 3' pole handles significant weight — no need for additional bracing even as the plant matures.
  • Aerial roots on large monstera can be 6–12 inches long. Guide them gently toward the moss; they will attach on their own.
  • In very dry conditions, mist the exterior of the pole between waterings to supplement the internal channel system.
