The Plant Pole Co.

2.5' Hydration Core Moss Pole

How the hydration system works

Pour water directly into the top opening. Internal channels run the length of the core and distribute moisture evenly into the surrounding moss layer — keeping it consistently hydrated from top to bottom without manual surface wetting.

Install Guide

1

Initial soak

Submerge the pole in water for 15–20 minutes before installation. This saturates the moss and primes the internal channels for their first use.

2

Insert the stake

Push the included mounting stake into the soil close to the plant base. The pole should stand upright and be positioned so the top opening is accessible for watering.

3

Guide stems to the pole

Use soft ties to loosely attach the main stem and any side shoots to the pole surface. Don't force aerial roots — they will attach naturally as the moss stays moist.

4

Water through the top opening

Pour water slowly into the top opening of the pole. Internal channels distribute it down through the core and into the surrounding moss. Stop when you see moisture at the base.

5

Establish a watering routine

Water the pole every 2–4 days depending on your environment. The moss should feel damp but not waterlogged. You can also continue watering the soil as normal.

Pro Tips

  • The first few waterings may drain quickly — this is normal as the channels prime. Repeat until the moss holds moisture.
  • In dry climates or under grow lights, water the pole more frequently. The moss should never fully dry out.
  • If you notice dry patches on the moss exterior, a quick mist will rehydrate the surface while the channels handle the interior.
  • The rigid core handles significant plant weight — no need to add additional support as your plant grows.
